A great example of the restoration of a broken commitment is the story of Simon Peter, one of Jesus’ closest disciples. Just hours after Peter had used his sword in the Garden of Gethsemane to staunchly defend Jesus, Peter denied his association with Jesus, not once, but three times. Still, Jesus gave Peter another chance, and this great disciple was restored to the point of becoming the keynote speaker at Pentecost. God loves to restore us! To revive a covenant marriage, a couple must first decide if the marriage is worth fighting to save. The next steps are to submit to God, trust Him to restore the relationship and allow Him to guide the future.
